Contact Becomes one of the first theatres in England to Introduce Auracast, a Groundbreaking Accessibility Innovation.
At Contact, our commitment to inclusion and accessibility is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we’re proud to announce that we are the first theatre and arts venue in England to install Auracast, an advanced Bluetooth technology that will revolutionise the way audiences experience live performances.
Auracast is a state-of-the-art wireless audio system that replaces our outdated, 30 year old hearing loop, offering crystal-clear sound to anyone using compatible hearing aids, cochlear implants, headphones, or earbuds. This innovative system not only enhances accessibility for those with hearing impairments but also supports neurodiverse audience members who may benefit from minimising background noise, allowing them to focus solely on the performance.
This week, we welcomed the Ewing Foundation, GN Hearing, and Ampetronic to install and demonstrate the new technology. Over the next few weeks, we'll be training our staff to ensure a seamless, inclusive experience for all visitors. By embracing this cutting-edge technology, Contact is reinforcing its mission to empower young people, support diverse audiences, and champion accessibility in the arts.
This initiative is part of our broader vision to change the future of the arts by creating a world where the arts are truly accessible to all. Whether you’re a regular theatre-goer or visiting our space for the first time, we want every visitor to feel welcome, included, and able to enjoy our performances without barriers.
We can’t wait for you to experience this exciting development! Join us as we continue to push boundaries, innovate, and make arts venues and theatres a space for everyone.
