Discover the journey behind Lauren Yvonne Townsend's, debut play OBSESSED, presented as a work-in-programme at SICK! Festival 2024, as she shares her personal experience of navigating life with OCD and making the move from theatre producer to playwright.
Through creative writing activities and good conversation, you'll explore the significance of looking after your mental wellbeing, how you can use our own experiences to create exciting new art and explore the power of telling your own stories. Confronting imposter syndrome and beginning to smash down the barriers to achieving your creative dreams.
This event is being presented as part of SICK! Festival’s SMASH! OPEN programme. An introduction to our SMASH! year-round mental health arts programme which aims to help to improve how you feel and provide opportunities to meet others facing similar challenges.
OBSESSED has been commissioned by The Lowry through its Artist Development Programme ‘Developed With The Lowry’ and is also supported by Arts Council England.
