CYC + GobSquad: While We Were Waiting Something Changed

CYC teamed up with Gobsquad to create an outdoor, immersive experience in Summer 22.

While We Were Waiting… something changed is an audio-visual ‘pod walk’ that transforms your phone into a portal, transporting you to an alternative reality.

CYC come together to explore the rites of passage from adolescence to adulthood. This one-hour guided pod walk takes the audience on a route beginning and ending at Contact, passing through transitory, transcendental, and transformational landmarks.

We look behind to our immeasurable pasts, and walk towards our unknown futures, balancing between the threshold state of ‘no longer’ and ‘not yet’.

ABOUT GOBSQUAD

Gobsquad is an arts collective based between Germany and the UK. They make mixed-media performance work, often site-specific, interactive and immersive. Connecting spaces, mixing liveness and chance with pre-determined, carefully structured action. Gobsquad’s work searches for beauty in the everyday.

Gobsquad want to frame and elevate daily life making magic out of the mundane, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. They explore the point where performance meets art, media and real life. The seven core members work collaboratively on the concept and production, there is no director, no boss, and no one is in charge!

Their work is regularly shown throughout Europe and has toured all the continents apart from Antarctica.
