Work Experience

Work Experience Placement provides a weeklong learning opportunity at Contact for young people who are interested in a career in the Arts/charity sector.

About Work Experience:

The programme is designed for young people who are up for a practical week of learning what it takes to run an organisation like Contact. They will participate in practical, creative workshops across every department within Contact. It is an opportunity to gain practical experience in the different roles available in the arts sector and how a non-profit organisation keeps the gears running smoothly.

In 2026, the programme will be running as follows:

Year 10 - Tuesday 3rd February to Friday 6th February

Year 12/College Y1 – Tuesday 14th July to Friday 17th July

Aims

Empower the next generation of leaders in the art space

Expose young people to different roles in an arts organisation through practical workshops

Understand the teamwork and collaboration that goes on between departments

Build young people’s self-confidence and networking skills

How to get involved:

We are asking for a member of school or College staff, who knows the students well, to recommend them for this week and to tell us why they would particularly benefit from this placement.
