About LUCKY TONIGHT! Edinburgh Preview Party
LUCKY TONIGHT! is going to the Edinburgh Fringe, and quizmaster extraordinaire (and former contestant of the Chase!) Afreena is having a party about it. You’re all invited!
The Balti Triangle is located in which English City?
What is the surname of the Asha that Cornershop were singing about in 1997?
‘Chachi 420’ is an Indian adaptation of which 1993 film starring Robin Williams?
For questions like this and more, join us for a full-to-the-brim evening of quizzing, bingo, karaoke, and most importantly prizes! But forget everything you imagine about all of those things!
Afreena Islam-Wright is a theatremaker and pub quiz host from Manchester. Her recent work includes Meet Me at the Cemetery Gates, an audio tour exploring grief, green spaces and Muslim funeral rites. Her previous work Daughters of the Curry Revolution toured nationally and internationally for two years.
Afreena has been roaming the corridors of Contact for 16 years, and she’s finally managed to hit the big time with an August-long slot at the Traverse in Edinburgh… But hitting the big time is expensive, so she needs YOU! to part with a little bit of cash to get her there. All ticket proceeds (minus the cost of processing the tickets) will go towards:
- 46 journeys on the X27 bus
- 23 Speedquizzing activations
- 1 stage manager
- 50 breakfast pastries from Lidl
- 25 nights in a caravan outside of Edinburgh
- 15 blue M&Ms for her dressing room
Afreena says: "This money will really help me!" and "Please come, you know you want to!".
