About If I Speak... Live

A live recording of If I Speak, the podcast where Ash Sarkar and Moya Lothian-McLean sort the personal from the political.

For their first Manchester show, Ash and Moya will be joined by special guest Lanre Bakare, a Guardian culture correspondent and the author of We Were There: How Black Culture, Resistance & Community Shaped Modern Britain. Lanre will be talking about the under-explored history of Black Britain outside of London, touching on the extraordinary Black lives who agitated, organised and created during the tumultuous Thatcher years. As is traditional on the show, he’ll also be helping Ash and Moya to solve your dilemmas.

The conversation will begin at 7.30pm and will be followed by a social in the bar.

Copies of Lanre’s book will be available to buy along with If I Speak merch.
