Young Identity are Manchester’s finest young spoken word performers. Join them for a boisterous night of poetry, music and visual art.

Please note: Tickets are now off-sale at Contact but tickets are still available on the door at Gorilla. Cash only entry.

One Mic Stand is centred around a Poetry Slam, in which 10 poets are given only 3 minutes each to wow the audience with their lyrical mastery and charismatic delivery to battle it out to gain the top spot and win the grand prize of £50!

In the past we’ve showcased the likes of JP Cooper, Thabo and Mica Millar and for this edition we bring you the sounds of July7, an R n B singer, songwriter and producer making waves on the scene. If that wasn’t enough we’ve also got BBC 1Xtra Words First finalist Amina Jama bringing her inimitable poetry to the stage and Reece Williams premiering work from his upcoming debut EP ‘Warren’.

This event takes place at Gorilla.
