TED-style talks, interactive panel discussions and artistic interventions.
11am – 4pm (registration and refreshments from 10.30am)
In this one-day event we invite leaders, Chairs and decision-makers of arts organisations to bring a guest. This person should be from the next generation of arts leaders.
We want to provoke debate and inspire change for a future sector of diverse leadership. The day starts with a unique, interactive panel discussion hosted by Thirty Pound Gentleman with panellists including: Abid Hussain (Director of Diversity, Arts Council England), John McGrath (CEO & Artistic Director, Manchester International Festival), Amy Lawrence (Artist and Board Member, Manchester International Festival), Marcus Davey (Chief Executive and Artist Director, Roundhouse), Afreena Islam (Board member, Contact), Alisha Whittington (Deputy Courses Manager, Clore Leadership Programme), Jessica Nolan (Future Fires, Contact) and Junior Akinola ( Interactive Researcher BBC / Creative).
Hosted by Reece Williams (Board Member, Contact) the afternoon features Ted-Style talks, artistic provocations and the chance for you to have your say! Our speakers include: Bohdan Piasecki and Zeddie Lawel (Beatfreeks), 20 Stories High, Hannah Ross (Future Fires, Contact), Claire Webster Saaremets, Quinn Green and Michaela Baird (Skimstone Arts), Keisha Thompson (Contact / Freelance Artist).
Curated by Contact and our young leaders, this event follows the hugely successful Power Through Diversity in partnership with Arts Council England held in December 2016.
This event will be BSL interpreted. Please note that refreshments will be available at 10:30 am.
