Delia Derbyshire worked for the BBC Radiophonic Workshop in the 1960s and 70s and is most famous for creating the iconic sounds of the 'Doctor Who' theme tune.

But she was also a pioneer of electronic music who, after leaving the BBC, continued to push boundaries and dismantle the reigning idea of where a woman’s ‘place’ should be…

This work-in-progress show is inspired by Delia and her work which was adventurous and experimental. To capture the spirit of this incredible woman we are therefore creating something different from the conventional biopic.

This show will fuse storytelling with newly composed electronic music and a deep dive into the possibilities of sound to build worlds and tell stories.
