As part of our Afro Appreciation events, we want to give you the opportunity to find out more about this wonderful hair texture.
Join this workshop to find out more about Afro hair and how to style it!
Our workshop is for those who have Afro hair and those who may have friends, family, colleagues, and participants with Afro hair i.e. teachers, care workers, and stylists.
This is often a skill that is overlooked in a variety of training contexts which can lead to people with Afro hair having unpleasant and traumatic experiences.
We have the power to avoid that by coming together to share tips and ask questions.
Gege – The Afro Curly Hair Coach
“I’m a Natural Hair Expert with over 13 years of professional experience in hairstyling and coaching. I’ve always loved everything hair, especially natural hair care.
My passion for hair is enormous and I enjoy working with all aspects of hair care, design and styling. I’ve styled many hair types across different ethnicities – from naturally straight, to wavy, to curly and coily hair, with specialty in curly and afro hair conditions.
I understand afro hair is one of a kind, that requires much love and care. There’s so much conflicting advice out there, and with such a diverse variety of afro-curly hair, I’m always asked a lot of questions.
As an industry leader, I have created proven hair products, styling services and expertise, which have helped thousands of clients locally and internationally. My standard of care is second to none.
I’m the owner of GlamGorgeous Hair, a salon listed as one of The Best Salons in the UK for Afro Hair by Refinery29 (2018 & 2019) and one of the Braid Destinations in the UK by Spell Magazine. I’ve also worked on various productions at the Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester including King Lear and Dollhouse where I supported the Theatre Crew with training and knowledge of afro, curly and mixed hair types.”
