As we wait to move back into nearly-finished, upgraded and refurbished Contact Building (more on that here), we’re been delving back into our recent past (or perhaps even further back) and having a nostalgic rummage through photos and videos from productions – both our own commissioned works, and those from companies who have visited us here in Manchester.
It’s been just over a year since we brought National Theatre/Fuel Theatre’s production of Barber Shop Chronicles to the Royal Exchange Theatre. The show was created by poet and writer Inua Ellams, who has worked with Contact before including on his 2010 play Untitled.
Barber Shop Chronicles ran Thursday 7 – Saturday 23 March 2019 at the Royal Exchange, and was described as an ‘entertaining, fast-paced, slick production’ by About Manchester.
At the time, we shared these photos of the cast in rehearsals – we hope it might bring back some memories for those of you who were able to experience the show live, and a sense of the liveliness and talents of the cast for anyone who didn’t!
