Contact's message to artists and participants regarding COVID-19 virus

Here at Contact the health and wellbeing of our staff, artists, creatives and project participants is our highest priority. We have been monitoring the news and advice around the COVID-19 virus, and it is with sadness that we have decided to postpone our participation projects, or deliver them remotely/online.

We know this will be disappointing news, but would like to reassure you we are as committed as ever to creating opportunities for young people to develop as artists, and as leaders within their communities.

Our Project Managers are in the process of contacting participants and if you have any concerns please contact the relevant Project Manager:

We are also supporting our staff where possible to work remotely while we prepare to move back to our newly refurbished building. We would urge you to keep in touch by following us on social media, as well as signing up to our e-newsletter via our website, so that we can keep everyone up to date over the coming months.

In addition, we are sadly announcing the postponement of Xana: Swallowing your Idols, due to take place at STUN Studios on 20-21 March, the cancellation of Jamal Gerald: Idols, due to take place at the Royal Exchange on 19-21 March and the postponement of David Hoyle: Ten Commandments, due to take place at HOME on 6 April.

We will be contacting all ticket holders for Xana: Swallowing your Idols very shortly. The Royal Exchange’s team  and HOME’s team will be in touch with all ticket holders for Jamal Gerald: Idols and David Hoyle: Ten Commandments respectively.

At present, we are focused on keeping our staff and project participants as safe as possible, so we are encouraging and supporting our teams to work remotely while we prepare to move back to our newly refurbished building.

Freelancers and independent artists may have concerns, and we will of course meet all our commitments. We also recommend following Arts Council England’s digital channels for information and resources, and we will continue to share these.
