We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be working with Indian street food specialists Chaat Cart, to provide the catering at Contact when we reopen in 2020.
There will be an onsite bar and restaurant, and they will also be catering our events and weddings.
Chaat Cart are a local company who are, quite simply, the real deal when it comes to Indian street food.
Founder Aarti grew up in India with a true love of food, spending her pocket money on dishes like Bhel Puri and Masala Dosa from roadside stalls, washed down with fresh sugarcane juice.
Despite the thousands of curry houses around the UK, Aarti struggled to find these authentic dishes in the UK, prompting her to set up Chaat Cart in 2012.
The food is inspired by South Indian home cooking and street food while showcasing the best British seasonal produce. The food and menu is almost autobiographical – a reflection of Aarti’s journey from Pune and Bangalore to a move to London then Manchester.
Chaat Cart have been featured in the Guardian, Olive and BBC Good Food magazine, Manchester Evening News and City Life, amongst others.
They have won several awards, and in 2018 were named as one of the top 100 restaurants in the North of England (top 10 Indian restaurants). Chaat Cart also have outlets at Kommune in Sheffield, the Produce Hall in Stockport and Marple.
Welcome onboard guys, we can’t wait to start sampling your food!
