We’re looking for an exceptional individual, who is under 30, to become Chair of the Board from April 2020.

Following a governance review, we’ve decided that at least 50% of our board will be young people under the age of 30 and we are appointing a young Chair to play a key role in shaping the strategic development of Contact as we prepare to move back into our refurbished building.
- Act as an ambassador and advocate for Contact
- Raise our local and national profile
- Support the Artistic Director/Chief Executive and the Senior Management Team
- Ensure that the Board of Trustees functions as a team
- Work closely with the board to ensure that Contact achieves its strategic objectives
The board meets four times a year (in the evening) so you will need to commit to all the board meetings as well as being available for daytime meetings with the Artistic Director/Chief Executive and occasional ad hoc meetings with third parties. These meetings can be arranged flexibly around your other commitments.
The Chair will be supported in the role through training, mentoring and development from the existing Chair during a 6 month handover period.

This is a voluntary position with travel expenses paid for attending board meetings and Contact events.
