After a sell-out event in 2018, Emerging Futures is back! An online conference for early-career change-makers in the arts and culture sector.

We’re delighted to be partnering with Clore Leadership Foundation for this event.

What will the Arts, Culture and Creative Industries look like in 10 years time? Do you have an idea? Will you lead us there?

Emerging Futures and series of satellite workshops are a chance to hear from leaders, trailblazers and activists. Make connections with others and exchange ideas on what leadership is and will be for the Creative sector.

It’s never too early to start thinking about leadership. You don’t need to be managing a team to be a leader and you don’t need to be at the top of a traditional organisational hierarchy.

Speakers

Performance artist, theatre maker, poet and writer Travis Alabanza will kick off the conference with a keynote entitled ‘Feel the Fear and Lead Anyway’. Other confirmed speakers includeJenny Waldman (Art Fund), Alan Lane (Slung Low), Phil Douglas (Curious Arts), Asad Dhunna (The Unmistakables), Victoria Burns (Climate Museum / Culture Declares Emergency), Keisha Thompson (Writer, performance artist and producer), Hayley Williams-Hindle (Researcher, Coach).

Who Is It For?

The event is for anyone with around 2-5 years of work experience under their belt (this can include internships). You can be working for an organisation, or self employed as an artist or producer.

We know that leadership skills can develop through different lived experiences and alternative career pathways. We welcome and are committed to reflecting, respecting and greeting a diverse group of leaders.
