Each year Contact commissions an artist or company to create a new performance for Queer Contact Festival, Greater Manchester's celebration of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) arts and culture.
The Queer Contact commission is open to LGBT artists, or artists who don’t identify from those communities but produce work that is relevant for those communities.
Previous commissions include Kate O’Donnell’s ‘Big Girl’s Blouse’, Debs Gatenby’s ‘A Place Called Happiness’, Laurie Brown’s ‘The Daily Grind’, David Hoyle’s ‘Diamond’ and Jamie Fletcher + Company’s ‘Dancing Bear’.
Support includes commission funding, rehearsal space and sharing opportunities, producer support and marketing/pr.
Details coming soon about a new commission opportunity to work towards our 2019 Festival.
