What would it be like to experience the world without one of your five senses? Sensored is a one-day festival of art and performance that asks you to look, listen, touch, taste, smell and even dance your way through a body of work that each omits a different sense.

Sensored also integrates other events — including a Dinner in the Dark, a panel discussion exploring ways to be creative about accessibility and more.

Conceived, produced and delivered by Re:Con, Contact’s Young Programming and Producing Team.

Featuring:

HIATUS - Subtle Kraft Co with Jose Puello

Seeing everything but deprived of sound, you are left to imagine your own internal score to accompany the dancers who are stripped of something else…

MAKE ME BEAUTIFUL - FRANCES KAY

A one-to-one interactive performance exploring how the loss of sight can affect mundane, everyday activities.

THE BALLAD OF ISOSCELES - ALI MATTHEWS

A one-to-one performance for two people at a time exploring voyeurism, the Lynchian iconography of the chanteuse and the strange rhythms of vicarious pleasure.

EMPTY KITCHEN - iORGANIC

Eat the arts. Fill up on a show dripping with spoken word, well-seasoned with our secret blend of audio and visuals and feel your way through a three course 'dinner'.

THE SCENT TENT - FACADE THEATRE

Façade use scent to playfully examine what makes you… you. Don’t worry, we all need a little time develop, so get in the queue and we will be with you shortly.

SPECIAL GUEST - JO BANNON - EXPOSURE

After sold out performances at Flying Solo Festival 2014, Jo Bannon returns with Exposure, an investigation into how we look, how we are looked at and if we can ever really be seen. This intimate one-to-one performance is a tender and tentative look into autobiography, asking how fully we can reveal ourselves - to ourselves, to another, with another.
