Contact is a registered charity, number 501953, which exists to support and develop young people through the arts, and has always focused on young people as audiences and participants.
We are a dynamic arts venue which produces ground-breaking performance by and for young adults between the ages of 13-30. Many young people assume that theatre isn't for them or that they won’t understand or enjoy it. We aim to challenge their perceptions of what theatre is, and can be.
We are an extraordinary creative hub with participation at its core. A big part of our work is delivering relevant and engaging creative projects for young people to get involved in. These can be at our venue or in unusual places and spaces from heritage sites, to Museums, from weights gyms and parks to city centre gardens, from derelict high street shops to Selfridges.
We offer young people from communities with little or no arts provision, the chance to get involved in our projects and a place where they can meet, explore and create new ideas and plans with professionals and peers.
Contact is not just a theatre, it is a space where young people can grow into performance artists, engage as audience members, develop as young leaders, impacting their communities and the cultural sector.
