Hello good folk viewing the Contact blog.
Thought I would update this post with a few thinsg that I am working on.
|Last year was a great year for me. I performed my poetry on Channel 4 news, Channel 4's 'My Daughter The Teenage Nudist' and CBeebies 'Rhyme Rocket'. I've now toured 'Wizard', across England with Grants for the Arts and Arts on Prescription awards and have just secured Arts Council funding for my first children's show, 'The Dragon Who Hates Poetry', which I'll be touring later this year.|
Following our first tour of 'Wizard' (tour 2 is being planned), I am now putting together a special event which should make marketting a lot, lot, LOT easier! .... I'm going to be filming a showreel of all the different stuff I do. That'll include bits from 'Wizard', bits from my children's show 'The Dragon Who Hates Poetry' and many of my other poems. Huzzah!
|Léonie Kate Higgins of Eggs Collective and (all the way from Chicago USA) Kristiana Rae Colón (Seen on HBO's Def Poetry Jam) will be guesting. I am thrilled to have them both on board and can't wait to see their sets. Zoop!|

Dean Atta is one of the leading lights in London's poetry scene. His powerful reflections on race, identity and sexuality have won him recognition from BBC Radio, Channel 4 and the Tate Britain - not to mention a formidable reputation on the spoken word circuit.
DOMINIC BERRY (host)
Author of ‘Tomorrow, I Will Go Dancing’ (flapjack press 2008) and writer/performer of the Arts Council England funded show 'Wizard', Dominic is a prolific poet, performance artist and creative workshop leader.
Anna Freeman is a multiple slam champion, performance poet and an activist for ginger liberation. Her work is funny, mostly, but with a spine of genuine pain and humiliation at the inarguable fact of her own existence. Her poetry has also been known to leave a greasy after-taste of lingering wrongness. Like a kebab.
Born and raised in East London, Keith Jarrett has written poetry and prose from an early age, inspired by Hip-Hop and jazz. Since 2005, he has performed at various poetry events in English and Spanish, and was a runner up in the Radio 4 Slam Finals in 2007. He is London and UK Farrago Poetry Slam Champion for 2010 and a semi-finalist in the World Cup Slam in Paris.
Jasmine Ann Cooray is a poet, educator and creative innovator. She writes with soul and precision, transforming intimate everyday relationships and painting the world into something you want to look at twice. Her performances are warm, animated and affecting. Jasmine founded the Brighton’s monthly sell-out performance night Floetics.
Henry is a Yorkshire-based poet inspired by punk, philosophy and politics…oh, also cartoons and comics.
Dean Atta and Dominic Berry will be leading a FREE story-telling workshop on Tue 5 February, 1pm to 3pm, FREE with a show ticket. Call 0161 274 0600 to book a place."
