**UPDATED: 14 DEC WITH NEW INFO FOR MOTHER'S RUIN, RAW JAM & HOUSE OF CONTACT**

Contact announces the line-up for its week-long celebration of the best in LGBT art and culture, from Mon 4 to Sat 9 February 2013.

Next February, Contact, Manchester’s leading arts organisation for young people, celebrates LGBT History Month with a week of theatre, cabaret, comedy, dance, spoken word and music.

Over six days audiences can enjoy comedy from Paul Sinha and Tom Allen; spoken word from Dean Atta; new dance from Alyx Steele, Joshua Hubbard and Peter Grist alongside a unique Vogue exhibition battle across continents between The House of Ninja (live from New York) and The House of Suarez (on stage in Manchester); the amazing Bryony Kimmings & Eggs Collective; and a special live band concert from cabaret artists Bourgeois & Maurice - plus much more.

Female artists feature throughout the festival week and include comedians Debra-Jane Appleby and Heena Patel; poets Anna Freeman and Jasmine Cooray; new work-in-progress theatre from Debs Gatenby, Cheryl Martin and Sarah Evans (Art With Heart); and a photographic celebration of UK Lesbian & Bisexual women from Rachel Adams.

Supporting this year’s performance programme will be three exhibitions: The Modern Lesbian, Tranchester and Blank Media Collective; as well as a number of workshop and open mic opportunities for new and emerging artists to get a taste of performing alongside more established acts.

Barry Priest, Queer Contact Producer says:

"We're extremely excited to once again welcome the best in local, national and international LGBT talent to Manchester, for a truly diverse festival line-up that is sure to delight and challenge our audiences!

“Queer Contact continues to grow from strength to strength each year, and with more events than ever - theatre, cabaret, comedy, dance, spoken word, music, exhibitions and workshops – at some of the lowest prices in town, we do hope you can join us for an amazing festival week!”
